Sickness and Medical Conditions
Minor Illnesses
As with all environments with groups of individuals there is a risk of your child picking up coughs, colds and other minor illnesses from their peers. In order to maintain a healthy environment we ask that if your child is unwell they should be kept at home.
Minor coughs and colds will not exclude attendance at nursery, as long as the child is well enough to cope with the nursery day. If your child is unable to cope with the normal routine then we may ask you to come and collect them.
The nursery has an exclusion period which must be adhered to for the following:
*Slapped cheek syndrome usually affects children aged between six and 10 years. Most cases develop during the late winter months or early spring. In children, the most common symptom is the appearance of a distinctive bright red rash on the cheeks. This is how the condition got its name. Find out more here - slapped-cheek-syndrome
Please note the above list is not exhaustive, just the common illnesses. Your GP will provide further information should your child have any other illness that needs to be quarantined from nursery.
Medication
Nursery will administer prescribed medicines only. The appropriate forms must be completed and signed by the parent or carer and the medicine MUST have the child’s name attached. (This also includes any inhalers).
Please Note - If your child is ill and cannot attend nursery you will still be charged FULL FEES
